Fixed Quantity

With MRPeasy Professional edition, it is possible to use fixed quantities of materials in bills of materials, which are not multiplied by the order quantity when calculating total material requirements. Usually, the Bill of Materials in MRPeasy acts like a recipe/formula, this functionality allows bypassing that. Common examples when this is useful are, for example:

  • when there are fixed quantities of supplies, like gloves or other perishable tools, used per manufacturing run,
  • or when for example just one user manual or set of tools is packed for the customer, irrelevant if the customer orders 1 or 10 units.

Transcript:

With MRPeasy Professional edition, it is possible to use fixed quantities of materials, for example, consumables,  in a BOM.

When the fixed quantity functionality is enabled, then in the bill of materials the “fixed quantity” column becomes available.

Common examples when this is useful are, for example, when there are fixed quantities of supplies, like gloves or other perishable tools, used up per manufacturing run, or when for example just one user manual or set of tools is packed for the customer, irrelevant if the customer orders 1 or 10 units.

By default, the bill of materials functionality in MRPeasy works like a formula – when you plan to manufacture 10 products, the materials in the bill of materials are multiplied by 10.

With this functionality, If a material has a fixed quantity defined, then that quantity will not be multiplied.

All quantities entered to that column are only included once in the material requirements of a manufacturing order, irrelevant of the order quantity.

The fixed quantity functionality can be enabled in the section “settings – system settings – professional functions.”

In this video, we described how the fixed quantity functionality works.
