Output at U.S. factories increased in April as operations at plants that were damaged by February’s stormy weather in the South came back online, offsetting a decline in the production of motor vehicles.

US Manufacturing Technology Orders Totaled $437.85 Million in March 2021, Increasing 16.1% from February 2021
U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders totaled $437.9 million, an increase of 16.1% over February 2021 and an increase of 41.6% over March 2020, according to the latest U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders report published by AMT–The Association For Manufacturing Technology. Total orders for 2021 reached $1.1 billion, almost one-third above the total orders in the first quarter of 2020.

UK Manufacturing Sector Is Growing at Highest Rate Since 1994
The UK manufacturing industry saw more acceleration in the rate of expansion in April, according to the latest PMI data.
Growth of output and new orders were both among the best seen over the past seven years, leading to a solid increase in employment.
The sector remained beset by supply-chain delays and input shortages, however, which contributed to increased purchasing costs and record selling price inflation.
