A holistic approach to wellness products

After working more than 10 years in wellness products manufacturing, David decided to take the leap and start his own business. In 2022, he founded Nayure, a natural cosmetics company based in Germany. The name “Nayure” is inspired by the words “You are Nature,” reflecting an elegant and holistic approach to wellness products. Among Nayure’s core values are sustainability, purity as quality, and a less-is-more approach to product development.

Nayure specializes in manufacturing high-quality essential oils and fragrance blends sourced from sustainable sources all around the world. The company mostly sells its wares direct to consumers via a Shopify-powered webstore, but also employs B2B channels. Having launched only recently, Nayure is on the lookout for new ventures through which to reach a broader market and bring natural wellness products to a wider audience.

Focusing mostly on research and development in the first year of operation, Nayure began selling its wares only in 2023. Today, the company has two full-time employees and is edging toward an annual turnover of €100,000 with production volumes steadily ramping up.

Getting organized from the get-go

Having worked in manufacturing for years, David knew that adopting production management software is a crucial step for a starting manufacturing business. He decided to implement the software and integrate it with the manufacturing operation from the get-go—a wise choice, considering that starting off without software and adopting later can limit options and complicate implementation.

David had a general idea of Nayure’s requirements and began looking for manufacturing software about two months away from production. The previous company he had been active in had used SAP, but the implementation complexity and general user experience of that system deterred him from considering it as a viable option. David’s primary search terms were for a system that would be affordable yet provide the functionality and scalability that a starting operation with many moving parts requires.

He evaluated both big ERP systems and SME (small and medium enterprise) oriented solutions and finally came to two cloud-based systems: a productivity app primarily focused on inventory management and the manufacturing ERP system MRPeasy. While the former had a nice interface and seemed to satisfy initial requirements, the decisive factor ended up being the price – MRPeasy was twice as affordable yet promised to excel in both scalability and functionality. David explains: “We only needed one user as we were just starting out. There were times when I would go up to a month without using the software, so it felt crazy to spend a lot of money on it at this point.”

Implementation was fast, thanks to comprehensive online resources.

David managed to implement MRPeasy’s core functionality single-handedly in about a month. Instrumental in this was the software’s thorough implementation guide, a wealth of online how-to videos, and a complete user manual accessible directly within the software. “Through the help aspects of the software itself, I was able to figure out bills of materials and everything else we needed on my own. I do not even know if I had any questions for the tech support team during implementation,” he says.

From day one, David was very satisfied with MRPeasy. The ease of use, help aspect, and intuitive interface quickly convinced him that he had made the right choice. David sums up his experience with MRPeasy: “It allows us to stay informed about where we’re at in terms of manufacturing processes, having our supplies in check, and keeping track of production lots. Our suppliers are also happy because we’re more well organized. We can send them order requests and our customers the right documentation straight through the software.”
