Sage 200 Manufacturing End-of-Life and What You Can Do
Starting December 31, Sage will stop all support for Sage 200 Manufacturing. What does this mean for current users and what can they do to ensure minimal disruption to their operation?

What is going on?
While Sage 200 Manufacturing was taken off the shelf in November 2020, Sage has continued supporting the system in case of critical system-down events. However, this last lifeline will now be cut.
From January 1, 2026, Sage will no longer provide any technical support, updates, or patches for Sage 200 Manufacturing. The software may continue to function, but it will become increasingly vulnerable to failures — especially after operating system or infrastructure updates — as it will no longer be maintained or tested against new environments.
In addition, non-supported software could pose security risks due to the lack of security updates.
What should I do?
If you’re still using Sage 200 Manufacturing, now is the time to start planning your transition to minimize disruption.
1. Review your current processes
Evaluate how you use Sage 200 Manufacturing today. What modules and processes are critical? This will help you shortlist suitable replacement solutions.
2. Explore alternative solutions
Essentially, you have two options: stay within the Sage ecosystem or migrate to another manufacturing ERP software. Create a list of requirements for the new solution and evaluate various options before making a decision. Consider subscription-based cloud offerings to avoid upfront costs. Cloud-based systems often offer free trials—use them!
3. Migrate
Luckily, Sage 200 Manufacturing enables you to export data in a CSV format, which can then be uploaded to your selected solution. This makes data migration much less painful and much quicker, enabling you to set up the new system with minimal disruption to your business processes.
4. Train employees
Ensure proper training for your employees (and yourself). Do not expect to do everything in the same way as before; be open to modifying your processes to accommodate the new software. If you feel stuck, consider hiring a consultant who specializes in the new software.
Why act now?
Delaying action could expose your business to:
- System failures due to unsupported software
- Increased IT costs when fixes become custom development projects
- Compliance risks if your manufacturing data is audited
Starting your transition now gives you time to select the right solution, budget for the change, and ensure your team is ready for the change.
